Record a conversation, see words appear while you speak, and keep the original audio with the finished transcript in a named book.
RecordTap the microphoneAllow microphone access when asked. Speak naturally and watch the live words. Tap Stop & Save to finish, then give the book a title. Open a saved recording and use Continue recording to add another take.
LanguageChoose the spoken language when neededDTT starts with your device language. For audio spoken in another language, choose it in Settings before recording or importing. Apple's speech model needs a language choice; DTT does not automatically identify every language from raw audio. After a book is saved, choose a supported target language to translate its transcript.
ImportBring your own audioUse Import on the recorder or in the Library to choose a compatible audio file from Files. DTT keeps its own copy of the original while it transcribes on device. If transcription fails, the audio remains in the book and Retry Transcription is available.
ImagesKeep the visual contextDuring a recording, Capture Slide or Import Photo adds an image and any readable image text to the same book. Check important names and numbers in the transcript and image text before sharing.
ExportShare the format you needOpen a book and use Share & Edit to export text, a PDF, the original audio, or the book's files through Apple's share controls. You choose the destination.
Apple WatchRecord away from your phoneSave the recording on the Watch. When the paired iPhone receives it, open DTT to import and transcribe it. Keep the Watch copy until the iPhone book appears. Available library space or unlimited access is needed for a new book.
PurchasesThree books freeKeep up to three books at once for free. For an unlimited library, DTT offers weekly, monthly, yearly, and one-time lifetime options through Apple. Your App Store shows the final local price. Existing books remain readable and exportable if a subscription ends. Use Restore Purchases in the purchase screen after changing devices or Apple Accounts.
