Decibel Meter & Sound Spectrum for Android

Privacy policy

Last updated October 18, 2026. This policy applies to the Android app published by GQ Bunny Software, operated by Main Event Entertainment, Inc. The Apple editions have a separate privacy policy.

Microphone audio stays on your device

With your permission, the app processes microphone samples in memory to estimate sound levels, frequencies, and noise exposure. Raw microphone audio is not saved as an audio recording or uploaded to GQ Bunny Software. Capture stops when the app goes into the background. You can deny or revoke microphone permission in Android settings; live measurement will then be unavailable.

Saved measurements and preferences

When you save a session, the app stores numeric measurements and their context in its private local storage: session name and times, levels, frequency information, exposure estimates, gaps, clipping indicators, and the measurement settings. Calibration profiles and display preferences are also stored locally. A saved measurement may include the device model and audio-input description so you can understand how it was taken. The app does not request your location or attach GPS coordinates.

You can delete saved sessions and calibration profiles in the app. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling removes its local records. The app excludes these records from Android's automatic cloud backup and device-transfer mechanisms. Export important records before uninstalling or changing devices.

Exports are your choice

CSV and PDF exports are created only when you choose to export. You select the destination using Android sharing controls. The recipient app or service handles the exported file under its own privacy policy; deleting a session here does not delete copies you shared elsewhere. Temporary export files may remain in the app's cache until the system or app removes them.

Purchases through Google Play

Google Play processes subscriptions and the one-time Lifetime purchase. The app queries Google Play for available products, localized prices, and purchase status, and acknowledges completed purchases. Purchase identifiers and tokens are used to determine paid access and restore it through your Google Play account. GQ Bunny Software does not receive your payment-card details. No separate GQ Bunny login is required, and Apple App Store purchases are not imported into the Android app.

Google may process purchase, device, installation, security, and diagnostic information under Google's privacy policy. Manage subscriptions through Google Play. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.

The Google Play Billing library included in the app also automatically sends Google technical billing diagnostics and operation information, including billing connection and response events, temporary billing-session or transaction identifiers, app and library versions, and device, operating-system, language, network, and similar technical details. This can happen when the app checks purchase availability or existing access, even if you have not bought Pro. The app has no separate switch to disable the Billing library's diagnostic transport. This information is not microphone audio, measurement-session content, or calibration profiles. Google handles this information under its privacy policy; GQ Bunny Software does not operate the diagnostic collection server.

Advertising and support

The app contains no advertising or behavioral-tracking service. It does not automatically send microphone samples, saved measurement sessions, or calibration profiles to GQ Bunny Software. If you contact support or visit our website, we use the information you choose to provide to respond. Website requests may also generate ordinary security and access logs, as described in our website privacy policy. Please share only information needed for your request.

Measurement limits

Readings depend on your device, microphone, processing, input route, and calibration. This app is not a certified sound-level meter or a medical device. Do not rely on its estimates as proof of regulatory compliance or as a guarantee of safe hearing exposure.
